POSITION: Pilot Plant Technician
DESCRIPTION: Support pilot plant operations for a Fortune 500 company which include but are not limited to: set up and running of batch and semi-continuous chemical processing equipment with an emphasis on production of liquid personal care products. Must have a positive, flexible attitude and strong communication, organizational, and time management skills. Must be able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
LOCATION: Trumbull, CT
WORK REQUIREMENTS:
- Set up and sanitization of manufacturing equipment following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Handle chemical raw materials while following all safety requirements
- Follow established quality, safety and environmental procedures and policies
- Maintain work area in a safe, clean, and organized manner
- Operation of manufacturing equipment following written process instructions
- Analyze quality of manufactured material in laboratory
- Prepare reports
- Database management of a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Office tasks such as email and team meetings to ensure project is kept on schedule
- Work with the client’s various functions within the R&D community to fulfill experiment/sample requirements
- Contribute ideas that improve the safety, efficiency and/or the overall effectiveness of the laboratory and team
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequently lift, carry and/or push light to heavy materials up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand and walk for most of the day while working in the lab or pilot plant
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum: associate degree in a scientific discipline with 1 year of laboratory experience
- Preferred: Chemical Engineering or Chemistry bachelors degree with 2-3 years of laboratory and manufacturing experience

**Position is a temporary employment offer for 2019 with the potential to extend. Hourly rate will be commensurate with experience.
POSITION: Chemical Weighroom Technician
DESCRIPTION: Support pilot plant operations
for a Fortune 500 company which include but are not limited to: inventory management of the chemical stockroom, weighing and preparation of raw materials for personal care manufacturing. Must have a positive, flexible attitude and strong communication, organizational, and time management skills. Must be able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
LOCATION: Trumbull, CT
WORK REQUIREMENTS:
- Handle chemical materials while following all safety requirements
- Weigh chemical raw materials to support pilot plant production
- Participate in individual or group training that will support daily tasks
- Follow established quality, safety and environmental procedures and policies
- Maintain work area in a safe, clean, and organized manner
- Work with database of a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Office tasks such as email and team meetings to ensure project is kept on schedule
- Contribute ideas that improve the safety, efficiency and/or the overall effectiveness of the client’s facility and team
